Meets at the Community Center every
Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Greetings from the Jones Township Senior
Center
I would like to let everyone know about the
activities we have been offering at the Senior Center.
We are now open from 9am until 3pm on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
We offer a “free” continental breakfast from 9am
until 10:30am with coffee, tea, bagels, muffins, juice, and
cereal. We also
have walking, coffee table chat and cards (Cinch and Michigan
Rummy).
We are sponsoring the Angel Food
Ministries. Angel
Food is available to everyone.
It is not based on income, so there are no limitations.
It is delivered one Saturday morning every month for your
pickup at the Wilcox community building.
Order forms are available in Wilcox at the Senior Center,
Municipal Authority and Township offices, Linda O’Rourke
Beauty Shop and Valerie’s Beauty Shop; in Johnsonburg at the
Senior Center, the Public Library, and the Johnsonburg Press
Office.
Quilting is taking off at the Center.
The ladies completed a Then and Now quilt of Wilcox which
was chanced off at the Wilcox Sesquicentennial Celebration.
Chelsea Murray was the lucky winner.
They are now working on their next quilt.
There are some people who have volunteered to teach
“Tatting”, which is almost a lost art, and some of the
members are interested in learning how to Macrame lawn
furniture.
Wii Physical Therapy, for those of us who
need to get moving and want to have fun doing it, is now
available at the Center.
We are looking for people who are
interested in giving our pool table a workout and we have
several members who are interested in learning the game of pool.
Watch the Jones Township website for more
information on the upcoming programs and please make plans to
come and join us!
