East Branch Lake

Offers many activities in the great outdoors.
2006 brought a number of changes at the East Branch Lake Campground. Since long standing issues with the dam were addressed in 2008, the Pittsburgh District has implemented various interim risk reduction measures, one of which was to lower the summer and winter pool levels in order to reduce hydraulic loads on and within the dam embankment. This interim water control plan reduces the normal recreation pool. This current measure will continue to be undertaken until a dam safety long-range strategy implemented.

Although the water levels have been lowered, this is surely the place to go escape the everyday urban life!

East Branch offers a variety of fishing opportunities including excellent ice fishing.  Fine catches of muskies, walleye, trout, and small mouth bass can be expected!

Fishing is not the only delightful recreational activity at the 1554-acre reservoir.  Boating, and there is no h.p. or size limitations on the lake, is a bonus which many outdoor enthusiasts enjoy.

East Branch Lake is one of the PA Wilds best kept secrets!

Many of the campsites are private and secluded!
