The Wilcox Sesquicentennial committee is looking for contestants to be nominated for the Sesquicentennial King, Queen, Prince, and Princess to reign over the Celebration the weekend of July 18th, 19th, and 20th. Nominations must be limited to Wilcox residents (Wilcox mailing address). Any resident age 55 or older is eligible for the King/Queen positions, and the age group for Prince and Princess is 6 through 12.
If
you would like to reign over the Wilcox Sesquicentennial or would like to
nominate someone, forms are available at the Wilcox Public Library, the
Jones Township Municipal Authority office (by the post office) and the Jones
Township Business Office (at the community building).
Applications are due May 1st.

The Sesquicentennial Committee is putting a book together to be sold at the Celebration. This book will feature a memory page. If you want to place a person's name on the Memory Page, please send the information and $5.00 to the Jones Township Business Office at PO Box 25, Wilcox, PA. (make payment out to "Wilcox Sesquicentennial").
The Sesquicentennial Committee is going to have a picture board on display during the celebration. If you have pictures of the Wilcox Centennial celebration in 1958 or the United States Bicentennial celebration in Wilcox in 1976, please send or drop off at the Jones Township Business Office before May 1st. These pictures can usually be copied while you wait. Otherwise, place your name on the back of the pictures and drop them off and pick them up at our office after August 1st. The committee will not be responsible for pictures not picked up.
Collector plates will soon be available. These plates were a big hit back in 1958 during the Centennial Celebration. The new 2008 plates will feature present landmarks. The cost of this commemorative plate will be $20.00 and there is a very limited supply. (only 200 have been ordered) More information to follow once they become available. The Wilcox Sesquicentennial Committee is pleased to offer commemorative metal bottle openers and coins for sale. These collector items mark the 150th anniversary of the founding of Wilcox and features the Veterans Honor Roll. All sales will help support fund raising efforts for the celebration. The openers and coins were locally designed and manufactured by the Wilcox Die & Machine Co. and Precision Compacted Components. CLICK HERE FOR AN ORDER FORM. Cost is $3.00 each or 2 for $5.00 + $1.00 postage for the first item and $0.50 for each additional item.
